Giving Back

The clients of WHI’s Project Extended Arms program, are excited to give back this Thanksgiving. Twelve clients will arrive at Cornerstone Baptist Church bright and early Thanksgiving Day to volunteer their time. Cornersone Church is located at 2815 S. Ervay in South Dallas. The clients will assist in feeding the area’s homeless population and lend an ear if someone needs to talk. WHI clients agree that Thanksgiving is a day to show all that you are thankful for. Darrell P. said it best when he stated “It’s our turn to give back, we receive so much and it’s time to help someone else.” Well said Darrell!!

Fund Raiser Tickets

Dallas, TX, November 11, 2009 — The Welcome House, Inc. is holding its 1st annual Step, Swing & Game Night fund raiser with silent auction on November 20, 2009 in the Desoto Civic Center Pecan Room. The event will help raise funds to bridge short-term cash flow short-falls.

The financial impact of the recession has affected Welcome House, as it has a growing number of nonprofits around the country, as we are challenged with maintaining services and staff because of the ever-lengthening delays in reimbursements from state and local governments as well as gradual reductions in funding.

The evening will include music, food, a silent auction and a raffle for a 32” Flat Screen TV (raffle tickets $2/ each). Tournament games begin at 8pm and include Spades, Dominoes and BidWiz with prizes going to the table winners. General admission is $15, “Players” $20.

All donations are tax deductible. Call today to register on the “Player’s List” - 214-887-0696 or register online.
